Aleyna is a trauma therapist who believes healing begins with curiosity. Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with me?”, she helps clients explore a different question: “Why does this make sense?” Through a compassionate and collaborative process, she supports teens, adults, and elders in understanding the patterns, beliefs, emotions, and protective strategies that developed for good reasons, even when they no longer serve them. Additionally, Aleyna believes authenticity and connection are two fundamental human needs. Many people find themselves caught between abandoning their own needs to maintain relationships and distancing themselves from others to protect themselves. Working with her can offer an opportunity to find a more sustainable balance—one where people can nurture connections to others without losing connection to themselves.
Aleyna holds an M.S. in Clinical Counseling from Prescott College, with an emphasis in somatic (body-based) counseling, and brings clinical experience from both individual and group therapy settings. She specializes in helping clients heal the impacts of trauma while navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and substance use concerns. Her work is informed by somatic and neurobiological approaches, attachment theory, mindfulness, and trauma-focused interventions. She has completed additional training in auricular acutherapy (NADA protocol), Flash Technique, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.
At the heart of Aleyna’s work is the simple belief that people can change and healing is possible.
All of Aleyna’s work is overseen by Angela Melzer, LCSW, OT, SEP, who provides regular supervision and mentorship. Aleyna is currently accepting new clients.
